Surprise! I made this new layout during the past 24 hours, it was inspired by Oridusartic. My twitter followers might have noticed my tweets about this new layout. 
I don’t usually changed my layout this often but I’ve noticed a few sites with very similar designs to my previous Scrapbook layout. Hence, I decided to draw a new one yesterday. I feel honoured that someone thinks mine is good enough to be duplicated though. I might be using this design for my name cards as well, maybe replacing the devil with my trademark panda, we shall see. 
So, why monsters? (Yes, it’s a monster or devil, not a cow, pig, bee or panda) I saw a tweet from Oridusartic with a link to a list of adorable monsters and I decided to try drawing something new. I’ve never drawn a monster before and let me tell you it’s super tough to draw a cute monster. The one in this layout – Blurry is not exactly adorable either. It’s my best shot though. It was without wings initially. Here are some of the different types of wings I’ve drawn for him.

It has a Chirstmasy feeling, no? The background isn’t very logical as well with lollipops growing on the grass. It’s suppose to be snowing as well. Nevertheless, like what Oridusartic had told me – anything can happen in “our world”. 
I’m still using the tab navigation style but I flip the words over so that it’s easier to read now. If you look around the website, I didn’t change all of the styles (eg. headers). I still like the old ones, plus I couldn’t think of a better one … yet. I still maintain the notebook style because of the same reason – I still like it.
I would like to express my thanks to Oridusartic, Terry, Liling, Chewy and Huaian for comments and advice before I launched the final layout. 
Credit for the post title goes to James! This layout is extremely random. I’ve no explanations as to why it is snowing when the grass is green. Why are lollipops all over the ground? Why are there shadows when there is no sun?
I have also done cross browser checks on Firefox 3.5.3, Internet Explorer 8, Google Chrome 3, Safari 4.0.2 and Opera 10. It should most probably work in the latest browsers and in resolutions of 1024×768 and above. A JavaScript enabled browser is recommended.

Wow, awesome layout! I especially like the use of clouds for transition. Your layouts are always so cute, but this one is more balanced.

Oh, I love this. (; It is so bright and cheery – and the monster just looks so adorable.
I was out the whole day and only just came home and saw your tweet – wasn’t sure what advice you were looking for. Regarding dealing with people who duplicate your design, or comments on the pre-launch layout?
If it is the latter then oops, I’m late! But it looks good anyway. Haha.)
Random is always good. It prods people’s creativity and challenges the ordinary.

Adorable? I’m glad that some of you guys think it’s adorable. I guess it’s subjective. I’ve some friends who finds it weird.
Anyway, it’s regarding the pre-launch layout.
I’m don’t plan to carry out any actions or whatsoever with those people that duplicate my design. I feel honoured that someone thinks mine is good enough to be duplicated. I’ll just let them be. I will scream and shout if it happens 5 years ago. LOL!

Overall. Nice layout! Love it!
The final transformation of the monster is nice, Dayna. The colors are definitely better. And yes, the tab navigation is easier to read now.

If you have not noticed by now, I am a sucker for adorable illustrations and yours are definitely in the list
I like the simplicity of this layout; the colours and css just make it possible. The notebook feel is absolutely felt 
It’s quite hard to draw monsters, I can agree with you on that. My monsters always turn out to be some kind of.. a person haha.

I love the simplicity as well. Layouts which are too complicated gives me a headache sometimes.

Sure, of course. There’s a difference between adopting a concept and duplicating one. With that said, I don’t mind you using the tab style navigation. I just happen to see a few which is an exact of mine.
I think I’ll transform this layout into a name card when I’ve the time.

This layout definitely gives a Christmassy feeling. As zany as it is, it’s wonderful and it’s colourful like your past layouts. I like how the navigation is at the side too.
I have to say that those bat wings you chose to use are my favourite out of the four you made.
You did a great job! I don’t know what you mean about other websites having the same style layout but I love all your layouts.

WOW! Such a cute monster and it is a bit weird because it’s pink and it’s some sort of vampirish thing! Aww and illogical is really awesome! Creates an illusion haha
Did you know that I already made a layout with a similar concept? Except I used some art that I didn’t do in the header? It was really so cute but I didn’t get the chance to put it up…. I don’t think I will since it’s initially a blogger layout. I still have yet t do my first WP layout. I need a lot of time for that >_<

Yea, that’s the purpose. To make it looks not-so-ordinary.
Maybe the audiences themselves can think about it.
I think of it in this way – If someone decides to make a layout with a similar concept or design to mine, I should be honoured that my design is good enough to be “duplicated”. But then again, I don’t feel right when there are more people have very similar layouts as mine.
