Who says you can’t get valentine’s day gifts for yourself? I get myself presents every year during Valentine’s and this year, I bought some pretties from Soap ‘n Sorbet. I have read about this new online shop selling extremely gorgeous beauty products from Makeup Stash! a few weeks back. Looking at the beautiful product catalogue with brands like Tokyo Milk and Lalicious, who can resist?

My pretties from Soap n Sorbet
For the nth time, I succumbed to temptation and ordered the famous Steam Creams and Tokyo Milk Rosewater Lip Balm. I have read really good reviews about the multi-purpose steam creams which can be use on the face, hands and body. Besides that, it comes in the most adorable packaging. I ordered one of the limited edition Steam Cream Cute as a Bunny Gift Set which contains the Porky Rabbit and Grace tin designs. I kept the rabbit tin and gave the other one to my sister for her birthday.
Thumbs up to Soap ‘n Sorbet for their wonderful packaging and efficient delivery! My orders arrived via registered postage nicely sealed and packed in a sturdy box 2 days after I had placed my orders. Everything was bubble-wrapped carefully and they also included 2 samples of their perfumes and hand creams.

Steam Cream Cute as a Bunny Gift Set
My first reaction when I opened the tin was “Woo, that looks like whipped cream!”. The texture is pretty runny and white, exactly like whipped cream. I am not sure if I would want to bring this out. Even though it’s in a screw lid tin, the cream might spilled if I opened it right after removing it from my bag since the texture is very runny. However, I am quite sure it would not spill if the lid is screwed tightly.
According to the small leaflet that comes with the order, the fragrance is from a combination of essential oils. There are subtle scent of lavender oil. It’s not that I dislike lavender but the combination of other essential oil makes the smell a bit too funky after application. The fragrance of the steam cream is light and refreshing when it is in the tin though. I am not sure why the scent would change after application. I wouldn’t say I’m too bothered by the scent because it certainly won’t be interfering with my perfume.

The steam cream
This cream is non greasy in nature which is a plus point1. It gets absorb in less than a minute. I often have problems with greasy creams because they take ages to be absorb and when I apply them on my hand, it makes my keyboard oily. I think I wouldn’t have any problem with this one. Moisturising factor is good as my hands no longer feel tight and wrinkly just after one application. I applied it on both my hands and legs after a bathe and it gives a soft “satin-like” finish. I understand where all the raves are coming from now. This is good!
I think it’s not going to be long before I finish up the entire tin.

Tokyo Milk Rosewater Lip Balm
I decided to get the Tokyo Milk Rosewater Lip Balm after I trashed my A’Kin lip balm after it expired last month. There are many flavours for the lip balm and I choose rosewater mainly because I love the smell of roses. I have to rave about how beautiful the packaging of this lip balm is. Absolute gorgeous! I intended to keep the box and display it on my desk.
The lip balm smells like a combination of rose and milk which isn’t overpowering.
It’s a clear balm which leaves a slight sheen2 after application and there was no sticky feeling at all. A few hours later, I noticed softer lips and the lines on my lips aren’t as obvious as before in spite of the fact that they are still visible. It’s not a bad lip balm, a rather good one in fact. I would love to try a minty one in the future.

They sound really interesting and I love the packaging. I really really like packaging that are vintage like. And there is nothing wrong with buying yourself valentine’s day present, I do it all the time because val’s day stuff are always packaged really nice.
Btw I love this layout, it’s one of the cutest layout I have ever seen. Well done on the beautiful design

The steam cream sounds good to me! I think I would love anything that is like whipped cream (even if I couldn’t eat it).

Me too! I think the whipped cream effect is an illusion. The look of it gives me the “Woo, that must be good!” feeling and I will definitely like it.

You purchase more products than anyone else I’ve ever known. (on or off line).
Do you use up all of them? Just curious ~_~

Haha, I use almost all of them but they take quite a long time to be used up because I rotate among all my stuff.

The packaging is gorgeous! I love the smell of roses too, which is why I got a rose salve last week. The packaging isn’t as pretty though.

OMG. D: *drools*
I want some of that! :O Holy shit.
Haha, I always send myself valentines gifts.
Well, I used to. Not so much anymore.
Things in Tokyo look so much cooler than they are here.
They package things so amazing over there, and here it’s so boring. -.-’

I don’t think the brand Tokyo Milk is from Tokyo, Japan. If I’m not wrong, it’s from America.

Ahhh I can almost smell the deliciousness!
I noticed how fast your order came as well, and I think someone on Twitter pointed that out too. That’s good service for you! I ordered something online but it is still being processed after a few days. Oh well, I must be patient!
I always get concerned when I buy cosmetics and want to carry them with me in my bag. I worry that the contents might spill, depending on how the package is done. Things like pumps aren’t that good, and I prefer things in a solid, firm bottle. Easy to carry and less risk of spillage.
I like creams that are light and absorbed easily. I cannot stand greasy creams. I did own this body butter, and it had such a nice smell but it was so thick and pasty. Good for legs, but not good for my hands. I hope you keep enjoying your goodies!

I was very surprised at how fast the orders came. I wasn’t really expecting them today. I only bring my lip balms, glosses or sticks around because I’m too lazy to do touch ups when I’m out.
I don’t think I can ever use body butters in Singapore unless it’s the monsoon season and the weather turns cooler. It’s way too thick for our humid weather, never fails to make me itch after applying.
