Amour Chaleur

Recently I ordered a stencil t-shirt for myself at $16 with postage. She sent them out but I did not receive them thus I emailed her. She was very nice about it and said that she will redo another one for me and send to me. She requested a meet up but I SMS her my address and asked her to send it to me via registered mail and I’ll pay for the extra postage cost. In the end, I received the top today via normal mail, the tee was in the wrong size and was stained at the back. I’m a local small and wear 14″ across for my tops but she send me one which is 16.5″, way too big for me. Although the top was with tag, the tag was old and dirty and I tried washing the stain off but could not. Apparently, the shirt was a very old top  . Am I wrong to be angry in the first place? Obviously I wasn’t happy that my shirt was stained and in the wrong size. The mailing part was still all right as it reaches me safe and sound :sigh:. Anyway, she took her time off to SMS again and said that she will send me another shirt in my size but its round necked (that’s fine with me). So, she suggested to me to wash off the stain and sold the top which is too big and the profit will be halved. The point is I don’t think the stain could be washed off :ooh:.

Relax Dayna. Relax.

It has been raining for the past few days in Jurong and I’m down with a flu  . I love those stormy weathers near the evening with dark clouds, thunder and lighting. I think most people won’t like it, I don’t know why. I’m not pessimistic but I just like those weather but it gives me the flu this time :stress: . There’s lots of wind and basically, it’s a lovely weather to me. This doesn’t shows I’m a cold and lonely person, does it?

I’m celebrating the countdown with my friends tomorrow. Apparently they wanted to go to the Esplanade because there’s some form of performance or celebration over there. It’s the last day of 2005 tomorrow. I need to finish my MYOB assignment by today if not I won’t go out at ease tomorrow. I’ll have a feeling that something is wrong since I haven’t done my homework yet. School’s starting next Monday too. Anyway, ever since I got to know about MYOB, it’s an accounting software by the way, I realise that developers of accountings software tend to give very cute names. MYOB stands for Mind Your Own Business, there’s another one called Peach Tree or something like that =P .

I’m going to miss 2005 :kawaii: . There had been so much fun and changes in my life this year. Is it consider old fashion to have a new year resolution? Anyway, below is Dayna’s new year resolution/wishes for 2006.

  • Learn to love and cherish the people around me more
  • Enjoy shopping but at a limit :P
  • Study hard for my examinations
  • Long lived to my family and friends
  • Stop being a procrastinator
  • Get slimmer :D

Right, I’m fat so I need to slim down. I gain 2 kilograms already. But I won’t be on a diet though, I love those yummy chocolates, sweets, cakes and what not. So, I don’t think I’ll get any slimmer but the other way round perhaps? I really really need to let my mind stay focus on my studies, I have no wish to disappoint my parents. There’s tons of tests coming January 2006, microeconomics next week thus working hard is the thing! I’m enjoying shopping a lot now, especially love those Taiwan and US sprees. They do have beautiful clothes which are (I think) more affordable then those sold in Singapore. Although no one might bother, but it’s my order list for sprees I participated in but have no yet received the “goods” :ooh:.

It’s for Chinese New Year hence the long list (I’m lying :D )

I finally got the Spelling Checker to work in WordPress 2.0, came upon the solution at ColdForged site. I love my Spelling checker, spell check the previous 3 entries and my spelling mistakes was horrible. I’m a poor speller. :(

WordPress 2.0

Posted in: Website

Right, so I took some time off and upgraded my WordPress to version 2.0. The interface has changed quite a bit but my dashboard loads so slowly that I didn’t wait for it to load at all. Is anyone having the same problem? Other pages works fine, it’s just the dashboard page. I can’t find anything wrong with it since it does loads but at a terribly slow speed. I’m in search of a ‘check spelling’ plugin that works. I need one badly, my spelling is totally pathetic. Anyway, the upgrade went smooth other than the plugins. I’ve got the smilies to work in the comments page, but I’m still trying to figure out how to add it back to my WordPress admin panel. The PHP EXEC didn’t work in the new version anyway so I switched to a new plugin for running PHP which is a lot better and effective, love it.

I really like how there’s a preview function for the post and pages which save me from having to save and view it on another page. The codings for the tutorials were also edited because the plugin I use to run PHP was rather good such that all the codes were executed into PHP functions too. But well, it’s fixed and running great. The threaded comments (also known as the ‘replying comments’ thing) was removed as I’ve no wish to edit the core files again, couldn’t find a nice good one though :( . I’ve set my mind on making a new layout but didn’t quite get what I’ve wanted so it’s still in progress. :)

Regarding the slight change in layout, Dayna is a lazy girl you know. Thus, I edited it slightly with a photo manipulation of a butterfly (hey, I did spent quite some time on it perfecting it :D ) It’s more autumn and spring feel now. So, this layout will stay for a very long time till maybe after my final examinations in March 2006.

Anyway, just thought someone might find this useful, if you want to upgrade your WordPress to the latest version and are not sure whether your current plugins will work, you may check the plugin compatibility list in the Codex. I heard it’s not the full list though but it’s pretty extensive so it might be of some help.

I’ve been making some changes and updates to the content, implemented a better search system to be used on the questions page. After surfing around, I found the smart archives more flexible thus changed that for the archives page. The site map was also redone (I’m sick of the manual one, thus using the more automatic approach now). =)

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone!!! So how was my Christmas eve? It was pretty good I guess, had some photos up in the previous entry, if you want the password, just email for it all right? I think I’m going to grow fat. I had lunch at Swenson’s yesterday, had tea break at TCC (had taken a photo of the yummy tea :D ), had a cheese sausage at Herren, had dinner at the hawker just beside the Esplanade. The satay was delicious, I swear I’m going back there again someday. There’s so many people there, we wanted for about 15 minutes before we got to share a table with someone.

The place was huge so I didn’t expect to bang into anyone I know but still coincidently Huaian saw me at Cineleisure. I went to watch King Kong yesterday, it was a long movie (>3 hours) but it was great I think. The part at the island was gross. I wondered how they filmed the animals and insects, I don’t have much appetite after watching that actually. My friend and I was being sprayed with foam while walking on Orchard Road by strangers. Suddenly there was foam in all directions, one thing I was quite disgusted was that I saw teenagers, secondary school students, spraying paint from those cans onto the trees and flowers. I was quite angry, that doesn’t shows how educated they are. They haven’t think about the consequences of the actions. My friend asked me to relax and pull me away before I did something to them :ooh:.
