It’s pretty obvious (from the post title) that economics is not my strong point. I did fairly okay for my macroeconomics, B+ last semester. I was hoping to do better in this semester’s module as I’m quite disappointed in my grades. However, my hopes totally vanished into thin air after reading through my lecture notes today. I went to Jurong East Library to study for Thursday upcoming test which takes up a shocking 25% of the module final grades :omg:. I make my own notes and Chapter 1 which was the introduction chapter was understandable by my small brain power. I’m going to touch on the topic about Demand and Supply which is so damn hard and long -.-. I got to finish it tonight so that I’ve time for the last 2 chapters tomorrow. I’ve finishing ranting about this
.
Anyway, today is the first day of school for a lot of school students. I was on a bus this morning, I saw a mother with her son who is obviously a primary 1 student on his way to school. So, the mother was combing her son’s hair and saying in chinese, “Must comb nice nice then handsome handsome for the first day of school.”
I was pretty amused to hear that. Anyway, I still remembered my parents brought me to school on my first day of my primary school education which was a decade ago. I cried nearly the entire day because I was so freaked out by my form teacher, Ms Lim. She threw another student bag out of the door and shouted so loudly at him just because he forgot to bring something. I’m not the only one that cried. But my dad has to come in and calm me down before I have the thinking that I don’t ever want to go to school again. After that, this teacher really scare the hell out of me. Sometimes in class, when we do our homework wrongly, she would throw out exercise books to the ceiling towards the fan. The book would be in very poor condition after that and we got to redo and recopy everything :ooh:. Teachers these days seems to treat students better as their afraid of the complains that might reach them.
A great Happy New Year to everyone. Dayna hereby wish all of you a great 2006 ahead and may all your wishes, resolutions and dreams come true
. I’ve uploaded some photos of the fireworks at the Esplanade, they were taken by my friend’s camera so it wasn’t that clear. The real thing was so much beautiful, no regrets watching it yesterday despite all the crowds. It was only 5 minutes?!? Everyone was cheering after that. Anyway, we went to the hawker again to eat, honestly the food there are very nice. I especially love the carrot cake and satay
. At the end of the day, we took a night bus from Jurong East Interchange but the bus didn’t took the normal bus route. It scare the hell out of me, I thought I wouldn’t be able to get home
.
Right, so I was grounded. Literally grounded. I got home like 2.30AM yesterday and my Dad scold the hell out of me. All right, it was my fault
. I’m going to learn my lessons, never ever go out again pass 7 in the evening or I’ll get into hot soup. Dad hadn’t talk to me for the entire day :sigh: but it’s not the first time this happens so things is bound to get better soon. I didn’t do much today, spend some time redoing some content on the site which are pretty outdated.
So that’s about all, I’m messing with my PhotoShop, maybe a new layout will be put for download soon
. So, one of my friend message me on MSN today, it was then that I realise the following week from January 02 was common test week and I’ve only one Microeconomics test thus no school for the week other than Thursday. Speaking (or rather writing) about the test, I am really nuts in Microeconomics. I can’t get the hang of all the graphs, there’s like more than 10 graphs for every single chapter. Although I was quite relieved to know that the test only consist of 10 multiple choice question, 10 true and false question and 3 short question question, but I have a feeling that the short answer questions won’t be that short. Most of the time, it would be question 1 and then part a, b, c, d, e, f. That happens in additional math, doesn’t it?

Recently I ordered a stencil t-shirt for myself at $16 with postage. She sent them out but I did not receive them thus I emailed her. She was very nice about it and said that she will redo another one for me and send to me. She requested a meet up but I SMS her my address and asked her to send it to me via registered mail and I’ll pay for the extra postage cost. In the end, I received the top today via normal mail, the tee was in the wrong size and was stained at the back. I’m a local small and wear 14″ across for my tops but she send me one which is 16.5″, way too big for me. Although the top was with tag, the tag was old and dirty and I tried washing the stain off but could not. Apparently, the shirt was a very old top
. Am I wrong to be angry in the first place? Obviously I wasn’t happy that my shirt was stained and in the wrong size. The mailing part was still all right as it reaches me safe and sound :sigh:. Anyway, she took her time off to SMS again and said that she will send me another shirt in my size but its round necked (that’s fine with me). So, she suggested to me to wash off the stain and sold the top which is too big and the profit will be halved. The point is I don’t think the stain could be washed off :ooh:.
Relax Dayna. Relax.
It has been raining for the past few days in Jurong and I’m down with a flu
. I love those stormy weathers near the evening with dark clouds, thunder and lighting. I think most people won’t like it, I don’t know why. I’m not pessimistic but I just like those weather but it gives me the flu this time
. There’s lots of wind and basically, it’s a lovely weather to me. This doesn’t shows I’m a cold and lonely person, does it?
I’m celebrating the countdown with my friends tomorrow. Apparently they wanted to go to the Esplanade because there’s some form of performance or celebration over there. It’s the last day of 2005 tomorrow. I need to finish my MYOB assignment by today if not I won’t go out at ease tomorrow. I’ll have a feeling that something is wrong since I haven’t done my homework yet. School’s starting next Monday too. Anyway, ever since I got to know about MYOB, it’s an accounting software by the way, I realise that developers of accountings software tend to give very cute names. MYOB stands for Mind Your Own Business, there’s another one called Peach Tree or something like that
.
I’m going to miss 2005
. There had been so much fun and changes in my life this year. Is it consider old fashion to have a new year resolution? Anyway, below is Dayna’s new year resolution/wishes for 2006.
- Learn to love and cherish the people around me more
- Enjoy shopping but at a limit
- Study hard for my examinations
- Long lived to my family and friends
- Stop being a procrastinator
- Get slimmer
Right, I’m fat so I need to slim down. I gain 2 kilograms already. But I won’t be on a diet though, I love those yummy chocolates, sweets, cakes and what not. So, I don’t think I’ll get any slimmer but the other way round perhaps? I really really need to let my mind stay focus on my studies, I have no wish to disappoint my parents. There’s tons of tests coming January 2006, microeconomics next week thus working hard is the thing! I’m enjoying shopping a lot now, especially love those Taiwan and US sprees. They do have beautiful clothes which are (I think) more affordable then those sold in Singapore. Although no one might bother, but it’s my order list for sprees I participated in but have no yet received the “goods” :ooh:.
It’s for Chinese New Year hence the long list (I’m lying
)
I finally got the Spelling Checker to work in WordPress 2.0, came upon the solution at ColdForged site. I love my Spelling checker, spell check the previous 3 entries and my spelling mistakes was horrible. I’m a poor speller.
