I doubt they will spend more money to connect it to the mall after spending about SGD 8 million on it already. Hopefully they do because it seems out of place now without the entrance of the bridge inside Bugis mall.

I would say it’s pretty crowded on weekends even though there wasn’t as much human traffic as compared to other malls. It’s usually quite empty on weekdays though!

When I visited Iluma a few weeks ago, I was surprised that the pedestrian bridge from the shopping mall was not connected to Bugis. Perhaps they’ll complete the link when the Bugis management decides that it’ll be ok, sigh. What a pity!

Anyway, the arcade at the top floor is really huge and the open air gardens, albeit small, do offer breath-taking views of the city thanks for the tip! The interior spaces are really huge too, especially the top few floors where a huge void looms below the arcade. The cinema looks pretty grand when I visited last time. I wonder whether is it crowded during weekends. My last trip there was in the morning (around 10am on a Friday morning because I sent my camera to a shop nearby for cleaning) and there wasn’t anyone around except for maintenance staff.

Yep! It was situated outside the Bugis mall. It took me 15 minutes finding the bridge when I am inside the mall before realising it’s outside.

I guess weekends draw a bigger crowd there. I like malls without crowds, we can eat in peace then.

I think the bridge is not connected to Bugis Junction. It’s only connected to Illuma. Yes, it’s a ghost town. I was there yesterday for lunch and not much crowd was there.

I find rainy weather doesn’t really stop me from going to the City ’cause most of the sidewalks have awnings — just have to deal with crossing the streets! I like the idea of artificial grass that imitates real grass so closely — it doesn’t trigger my hay fever and there’s less creepy crawlys in it!

I really like the picture of the trees, it looks pretty. Is that mall done by Swire? That building looks similar to one used by a mall in BeiJing, which is by Swire too. They make some really cool malls… the one in BeiJing has an outdoor garden as well.

I’ve never heard of an outdoor garden at a mall! I like that idea, though. I imagine it would be a very serene place to escape to if the chaos of the mall got to be too much!
