Kao Liese Bubble Hair Dye in Cassis Berry

Kao Liese Bubble Hair Dye in Cassis Berry

I went Jurong Point to meet Michelle for a girl’s night out on Friday. We were browsing through the shelves of Watsons (one of my favourite shops) when we noticed this new bubble hair dye from Liese. My sister sent me an email about it a few days ago about this new hair dye retailing in Singapore. It uses foam instead of the conventional liquid solution. It seems to be gentler than the normal ones and I fell in love with Cassis Berry when I saw the colour swatch. It’s a beautiful shade of red with tints of brown.

By the way, I’m a fan of bright colours and I don’t mind at all having a bright hair colour. So, Michelle was happy to volunteer to help me dye my hair. We were both very excited to see the outcome of this new hair dye so we bought it on the spot and went home to to do it on the same night. :halo: The box is so colourful and it’s retailing at SGD 19.90. I think it’s the same product as Kao Prettia. They have a lot more shades in Japan and red happens to be one of my favourite hair colour. But being Asian with dark hair, red is a difficult colour to dye.

Michelle's bloody gloves

It’s very foamy and cooling when it’s applied to the hair. Look at the gloves, don’t it look like the ones doctors worn during their surgery? Plus the colour really looks like blood. :lame: Michelle looked like she just did a successful major surgery and is so proud of it. =D And so we waited for 30 minutes before washing it off.

The weird thing about this dye is that when we wash off the solution, the water is clear. When using conventional liquid dyes, the water will turn into the colour of the dye, it definitely wouldn’t be clear as far as I know off. But this one is clear. In addition, the chemical smell that is left on the hair after the dye isn’t as strong as the ones I used to use (I think I used L’oreal previously). It also has this nice smelling hair lotion to apply after dying your hair. I have to rave that this hair dye is pretty gentle on the scalp and doesn’t make me itch at all unlike the L’oreal ones I’ve used. However, I have to say I’m disappointed with the results.

Hair colour from the back

Hair colour from the back

The colour looks nothing like the swatch but it could be due to my dark hair colour to begin with. I haven’t dyed my hair in 2 years if I’m not wrong. Anyway, my hair colour becomes dark chocolate brown with tints of red. Even though it looks very natural, it wasn’t what I have expected. Perhaps I should have left it on for a longer time, but who knows how it will turn out then. I have to say I think I look better with dark brown hair colour rather than black. Black hair just doesn’t suits me. The chemical reaction from the dyes seems to make my hair straighter as well (not that it’s a bad thing). =D Overall I would say it’s a good dye if only the colour is brighter and stronger. Perhaps I’ll try a lighter colour next time, Chinese New Year perhaps? ;)

My sister’s planning to get one as well and she has a lighter hair colour. I shall wait to see the outcome of her dye. :halo:

And below is the end of of this blue towel. It’s going straight into the bin. It looks like it has just taken part in some kind of bloody event. :surprised: I may need to get Mum a new towel as compensation soon.

I never seems to step out of John Little empty handed. This weekend was the “spend $50 nett and get $8 off” and I got myself a face mask and moisturiser from Nature & Co (brand under Kose). I think it’s more of a drugstore brand as compared to the other Kose products.

I’ve read some raves about the bright mask C and decided it’s a good time to try out these. The mask seems to have good brightening effects. Someday, I’m going to do a post with reviews for some of my skincare products. =p

i am using the kao prettia glossy brown and i can say you will only get to notice the beauty of its color after a week. right after i dyed my hair, i thought it didn’t give much effect on my hair but after a week i begin to notice that the color on my hair has been enhanced.

I might purchase my next hair dye in a foam! Maybe it’ll feel more like a massage next time I dye my hair!
I used a Japanese hair dye and it turned out fairly nice, I think the brand was called Beauteen? Although the colour faded to it’s permanent colour after another 1-2 washes.

Oh, one of my friend is using that brand as well. She said it was not bad. If I’m not wrong, that one has a stronger colour than this one. :) My hair colour is getting brighter with each wash now.

That sounds like a very nice hair dye:) I wish they sold it here as well.

Wow, I didn’t know hair dyes come in foams now! But from the way you described it, it seems to be a lot gentler and friendlier to your hair and scalp – perhaps that explains the less intense colour at the end of the procedure.

We should meet up someday or something – since I live like a 15-minute bus ride away from there (living on campus in NTU) and I’m always hanging around Jurong Point in search for good food.

I think this is the only brand that comes with foam. :P Yup, it seems pretty gentle when I tried it. My scalp usually itches when I dye my hair, this one doesn’t.

I live about 15 minutes bus ride from Jurong Point as well (right beside Jurong Junior College). Oh, I’m always there got high tea or shopping. :halo:

Sure, at least I know someone will be reading them. :P Yup, me too. I kept buying highly recommended products. I already have a few more items added to my to-buy list – SANA loose powder and Nature & Co powder foundation.

By any chance, is the scrub thing called CURE Natural Aqua Gel? :halo:

I think once you have dyed your hair, you will be tempted to do it again. There’s always so many beautiful colours (and box) to tempt me. :P

LOL! I’m glad someone likes reading beauty products reviews. Some other time, I’m going to post reviews of skincare and cosmetics products I’ve tried! :D
